Nankai Electric Railway 6000 Series (Current Livery) 8-Car Set
● The Nankai Electric Railway 6000 series is a 20-meter-long commuter train for the Koya Line, introduced in 1962. A total of 72 cars were manufactured, and even now, more than 60 years later, 20 cars are still in active service. It debuted as an all-stainless steel car manufactured by Tokyu Car Corporation (now Japan Transport Engineering Company) through a technical partnership with the American Budd Company, featuring an unpainted corrugated body, uniquely shaped ventilators, and Pioneer III bogies. In 1985, renovations and air conditioning modifications were carried out, along with the replacement of the bogies, resulting in a distinctive appearance with a heavy roof lined with distributed air conditioning units and different bogies on some Saha 6600 cars and other cars. Since 1992, blue and orange stripe paint has been added, and changes have occurred such as the car number plate on the side near the driver's cab of the leading cars being replaced with a "NANKAI" logo plate. For 57 years after its introduction, it remained in service without a single car being scrapped, but with the introduction of newer rolling stock, scrapping began in 2019. Currently, 20 cars remain and are in active service on all routes, from local to rapid express, without any distinction from the newer rolling stock.
◆KATO's Kansai private railway lineup now includes the Nankai Electric Railway 6000 series. The corrugated body, single-leaf doors, and uniquely shaped roof equipment, all characteristic of stainless steel cars manufactured in the Showa era, are realistically reproduced.
●The 6023F (4 cars) and 6019F/6915F (2 cars), classified as 6th and 7th batches, are produced in their current actual train specifications.
●The "NANKAI" logo, current company emblem, and blue-background car number plates are reproduced.
●The front destination display is pre-installed with "Local Express Namba". Includes interchangeable "Express Hashimoto," "Local Kawachinagano," and "(Blank)" signs.
● Reproduces the form after the close-coupling of the couplers, body renovation, air conditioning modification, and bogie replacement, as well as the addition of front and side indicators and the attachment of vehicle number plates to the front gangway doors.
● Headlights/taillights, type indicator lights, and front destination indicators illuminate on each leading car (with on/off switch). Warm white LEDs are used. The type indicator lights can be switched between two lighting states by inserting or removing the light guide component: all lights on or only the passenger side lights on.
● Accurately reproduces the distinctive corrugated (wave-shaped) body and the unique texture of stainless steel cars.
● Reproduces the distinctive roof equipment such as the densely arranged distributed air conditioners, two-stage piping, and lower-frame cross-type pantographs.
● The bogies are based on the specifications after bogie replacement due to air conditioning modification; only the Saha 6600 is equipped with the Minden German type FS-355, while the other cars are equipped with the S-type Minden type FS-092/392.
● Slotless motor is used for smooth and quiet running.
● Each car uses a hookless body-mounted close-coupling coupler. An electrical connector (single stage) and body mount that can be attached to the front are included.
