Tsugawa 14078 N-Scale Wa1-Type Wooden-Door Standard Design / Covered Wagon / Wooden Freight Car
The Japanese Government Railways inherited various enclosed freight cars with a capacity of less than 10 tons through the acquisition of numerous privately operated railways. These cars were rebuilt during the Taisho period and standardized as 10-ton-class freight cars. In the early Showa period, they were designated as Wa1-type freight cars.
After World War II, these freight cars were sold to private railway companies and remained actively in freight service for many years.
Based on a prototype featuring steel posts, wooden cross-panel construction, and wooden doors.
The model is based on vehicles associated with Nippon Sharyo Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Omi Railway, and the Freight Railway Museum.
