Kato 8070 N scale Temu 300 (2-car set)


Tem 300 (2-car set)

This is the first newly manufactured steel covered freight car after the war. It's an improved version of the Tem 100, a 15-ton capacity, two-axle car, featuring a two-stage link running gear and an increased maximum operating speed of 75 km/h. 850 units were manufactured by 1963. To cope with the heat generated by the chemical reaction between quicklime (the main cargo) and water, it features a leak-proof structure, and the floor, side panels, and roof are all made of steel plate. To accommodate bulk loading, the interior is smooth without lining, and the side pillars are positioned on the outside using flat steel plates.
