Kato 8069-1 N scale Tam 500 Nippon Oil Transportation
A group of small freight cars, including standard covered cars, open cars, and tank cars, used during the Japan National Railways era.
All vehicles were equipped with two-stage linkage running gear, allowing for a maximum speed of 75 km/h and were used nationwide.
●WA12000
With a 10-ton capacity, this was only about two-thirds the payload of the more common WAM80000, which had a 15-ton capacity. However, in response to requests from small-lot shippers, 500 cars were manufactured at the Japan National Railways Works starting in 1956. To accommodate its payload capacity, the car's low length and height made its compact appearance an accent in a freight train formation.
●TRA55000 (with cargo cover)
Introduced in 1962 as the successor to the pre-made TR45000, 3,205 cars were manufactured. It was the first open car constructed entirely of steel, giving it a more modern style than the TR45000.
