Wamu 90000
The Wamu 90000 series is a representative boxcar of JapanNational Railways (JNR), first manufactured in 1953 (Showa 28). In addition tovehicles converted from the Wamu 23000 series boxcars with a double linkrunning gear, new cars were also produced from 1954 onwards. The Wamu 90000series was used for a long time during the JNR era, becoming synonymous with"black freight cars." However, in its final years, the number ofthese cars rapidly decreased due to a decline in freight transport andreplacement by the Wamu 80000 series, leading to the discontinuation of theseries in 1986 (Showa 61).
