KATO 3062-3 N Scale EF15 Standard Type (with Slotless Motor)


●The EF15 was the standard electric freight locomotive, with 202 units mass-produced between 1947 and 1958. It served nationwide on DC sections, from Kuroiso on the Tohoku Main Line in the north to Shimonoseki on the Sanyo Main Line in the south, until around 1987.

◆This locomotive was widely used nationwide, and is recommended for pulling various freight cars that were in service during the same period. Use photographs, videos, and other reference materials to recreate a realistic train formation.

◆This new product features a slotless motor and a spoked front wheel.

Key Features
1. This is a Toshiba-manufactured EF15 standard model (No. 46-129), featuring seven side windows, a monitor roof, a PS14 pantograph, and a plate-type license plate, from the Takasaki No. 2 Locomotive Depot era around 1978.
2. The EF15's distinctive deck details, such as the diagonally positioned under-deck springs and suspension links, are realistically reproduced.
3. The driver's cab is recreated (control panel, chair, and see-through interior).
4. The whistle car used to cross the Joetsu border. Cold-weather specifications such as a bar and snowplow are included as standard.
⑤ By removing the snowplow and replacing it with the included whistle, you can recreate warm-weather specifications.
⑥ The HT61 bogies, with their heavy feel, including two sandboxes on each axle and brake rods, are accurately reproduced, and spoke-tipped wheels are included as standard.
⑦ The PS14 pantograph with its pipe-shaped pantograph shoes is reproduced.
⑧ The slotless motor provides smooth and quiet running.
⑨ Headlights illuminate (using warm-color LEDs).
⑩ Arnold couplers are included as standard. Replacement knuckle couplers are included.
⑪ Selectable license plates: "EF15 79," "EF15 96," "EF15 97," and "EF15 111" are included.
