The C62 locomotive served in Hokkaido, equipped with heavy-duty cold-weather and snow-proof gear to withstand the harsh winter climate, and was used to haul passenger trains such as the Niseko Limited Express. Locomotive No. 2, with its swallow emblem painted on its smoke deflector surrounded by a stainless steel frame, was affectionately known as the "Swallow Angel." On the Hakodate Main Line, commonly referred to as the "Mountain Line," the C62 locomotive was frequently used in multi-locomotive formations. On September 15, 1971, the C62 locomotive was officially retired after its farewell service as a three-locomotive formation. Locomotive No. 2 was then preserved at the Kyoto Railway Museum in operational condition; while Locomotive No. 3 continued service until September 30, 1973, when it underwent smokeless conversion and was dismantled and preserved. After JR's privatization, this locomotive was restored in 1987 and operated as the "C62 Niseko" until November 1995. Currently, it is statically preserved at the JR Hokkaido Naebo Railway Technology Museum.

◆The Hokkaido C62 Type 2/3 locomotives represent the steam locomotive boom of the late 1960s. You can recreate the grand scene of the No. 2 and No. 3 locomotives running together on the "Niseko" express train.

② The differences between the No. 2 and No. 3 locomotives are highly accurate.
No. 2 locomotive: The shimmering swallow pattern on the deflector and the white lines on the sides of the running boards are reproduced.
No. 3 locomotive: Differences such as the absence of white lines on the running boards, a lower front license plate, and boiler pipes are reproduced.
③ The power unit uses a coreless motor, providing powerful and smooth operation.
④ The gap between the boiler and the frame, as well as the perforated box-type drive wheels, are completely identical to the actual product.
