287 Series "Kuroshio" 60th Anniversary Commemorative Wrapping, Second Edition, 6-Car Set [Special Edition]

● The 287 series is a limited express DC electric train developed by JR West based on the 683 series 4000 series, and is active as the "Kounotori" and "Kuroshio" limited express trains. To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the "Kuroshio" limited express service in 2025, a 60th-anniversary commemorative wrapped train began operation in July of that year. The first edition featured a design inspired by the 381 series "Super Kuroshio," which had been in operation since 1989. The second edition, featuring a wave-inspired wrapping from the front to the sides, also appeared in August of the same year. The first edition is scheduled to run until February 2026, and the second edition until November 2028.


◆Following the first release, we are now releasing a second model of the specially wrapped train set commemorating the 60th anniversary of the "Kuroshio" limited express train. The front decoration, featuring a wave-like design around the headlights extending from the front to the sides of the leading cars at both ends of the train, is accurately reproduced. This model can be enjoyed alongside the <10-2175 287 Series "Kuroshio" 60th Anniversary Wrapping>, scheduled for release in December 2025, and the currently available <10-1179S/1180 287 Series "Kuroshio">.


① A model of the HC603 train set from the Hineno Branch of the Suita General Rolling Stock Center, featuring the second phase of the 60th anniversary commemorative wrapping.
② Beautifully reproduces the wave design around the headlights extending from the front to the sides of both leading cars, the limited express mark on the front, and the headmark.
③ Reproduces the rounded front shape and distinctive head/tail lights.
④ The lightning arrester reproduces the new type seen on JR West rolling stock in recent years.
⑤ Slotless motor is used for smooth and quiet running.
⑥ The front of the leading cars uses KATO close-coupling couplers (without hooks). Electrical connector parts (1 stage) are included. Body-mounted close-coupling couplers (with hooks) are used for the intermediate connecting sections.
⑦ Head/tail lights illuminate. Kumoha 287-16 has an on/off switch. The headlights above the driver's cab illuminate in white.
⑧ Destination display stickers included ("Kyoto," "Shin-Osaka," "Wakayama," "Shirahama," "Shingu," "Nara")
