Tokyu Corporation 5050 Series (with added antenna) 8-car set [Special Edition]

● The Tokyu 5000 series was manufactured in accordance with the Japan Railway Manufacturers Association's "Standard Specifications Guidelines for Commuter and Suburban Trains," aimed at reducing vehicle manufacturing costs through standardization. Jointly developed by JR East and Tokyu Car Corporation, it is Tokyu's standard train, based on the E231 series with various original Tokyu elements incorporated.

The 5050 series began commercial operation on the Toyoko Line in 2004. Currently, through through service with five companies, the 8-car train operates on a wide range of routes, from Motomachi-Chukagai on the Minatomirai Line to Shiki on the Tobu Tojo Line and Hanno on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line.

◆ A new lineup has been added to KATO's Tokyu Corporation series. The 8-car 5050 series, which operates on the Toyoko Line, will be produced in its recent form with an added antenna on the roof of the leading car. This product can be enjoyed alongside a wide range of through-service trains, including various Tokyu Corporation products currently on sale, the <10-1961/1962 Seibu Railway 40000 Series 50s>, and the <10-2157/2158 Seibu Railway 40000 Series 50s> scheduled for release in February 2026.

① Models the 5174 formation belonging to the Motosumiyoshi Depot.
② Reproduces the form of the leading cars (5174 and 5874) with added digital radio antennas and the intermediate car (5474) with the IR antenna removed.
③ Reproduces the thick red stripe on the side lower panel and the yellow warning stripe at the end of the car.
④ "8cars" display is printed on the front window. The identification stripe next to the crew door is reproduced in red.
⑤ Reproduces the roof of each car equipped with Mitsubishi air conditioning units (CU708 type coolers).
⑥ The intermediate cars of the formation are equipped with KATO close-coupling couplers (with hooks) as standard. The front end is equipped with a dummy coupler.
⑦ Headlights/taillights and front destination display illuminate (white LEDs used).
⑧ Slotless motor is used for smooth and quiet running.
⑨ Front display "14K Express Motomachi-Chukagai" is pre-installed. Replacement displays "08K Local Wakoshi", "21K Local Shibuya", and "(blank)" are included.
⑩ Side displays are printed in plain black. Destination display stickers are included.
⑪ DCC friendly.
