681 Series "Shirasagi" 3-Car Add-on Set

●The most representative express trains connecting Hokuriku with Kansai and Chubu in JR West are the "Thunderbird" from Osaka and Kyoto and the "Shirasagi" from Nagoya. Even with the shortened operating sections due to the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen, they remain highly popular. The "Shirasagi" runs from Nagoya, via Maibara, to Tsuruga (and to Kanazawa before the Shinkansen's opening). The current 681 series trains used for the "Shirasagi" were repurposed from the "Thunderbird" and "Hakutaka" trains when the Hokuriku Shinkansen was extended to Kanazawa in 2015. These trains underwent modifications, resulting in variations in their interior and exterior.

◆This product models the 681 series "Shirasagi" from around the time of the Hokuriku Shinkansen's extension to Tsuruga. The Saha 681-300, which was modified after its repurposing as the "Shirasagi," will be newly manufactured. As it sometimes makes an appearance in Osaka as the "Thunderbird," this model can be enjoyed alongside the popular <10-2071 683 series "Shirasagi" (new paint scheme)>, the 521 series, 223 series, and 225 series <New Rapid Service> trains of various third-sector railways, and the 315 series 3000 series scheduled for release in January 2026.

① W14 and V41 formations of the Suita General Rolling Stock Center Kyoto Branch are being produced.
② A new Saha 681-300 (car 4) has been created, with the mini-cafeteria removed and a service room and conductor's room installed.
③ The window frames of the Kumoha 681 and Kuha 680 are represented in gray. Also reproduces the gray below the front window of the Kumoha 681.
④ Reproduces the underfloor equipment at the end of each car.
⑤ Cars 3, 6, and 8, which correspond to the actual powered cars, use wheels that reproduce disc brakes.
⑥ The molded color of the seats in each car reproduces the image of the actual car.
⑦ The coupler of the through-car leading car is a body-mounted close-coupling coupler (without hook), and an electrical connector for the front and a coupler cover (basic set only) are included.
⑧ Includes front through-door parts in the open position.
⑨ Equipped with a GM-5 motor, the coupler is a bogie-mounted close-coupling type (with hook).
⑩ Headlights/taillights light up (using warm white LEDs, except for car 7).
⑪ Destination display stickers are included.
⑫ The contents of the 3-car add-on set can be stored in the book case of the 6-car basic set.
