Product Description
The E721 series, introduced in 2007, is the main train in the Tohoku region, handling commuter and suburban transport.
The E721 series in the Sendai area were added for the purpose of updating the rolling stock at JR East's Sendai Branch and for operation on the Sendai Airport Access Line, and are operated together with the existing 701 series 1000/1500 series.
Designed to match the low-floor platforms used during the JNR (Japanese National Railways) era, it features a low-floor body structure with small-diameter wheels and was manufactured as a barrier-free vehicle with no steps at the entrances.
The E721 series belonging to the Sendai Branch comes in two types: the 2-car 0 series and the 4-car 1000 series, and is operated in a maximum of 6-car formations by coupling the two series together.
During daytime hours and on terminal sections, only the 0 series may be operated, so you can enjoy variations from 2 to 6 cars.
Furthermore, the trains that can be coupled are not only the E721 series, but also the 701 series.
Product Information
- Modeled after the P4-6 formation belonging to the Sendai Vehicle Center. The bogies and underfloor equipment are reproduced in gray, and the skirts in blue-gray.
- Beautifully reproduces the different stripe colors of the 0 and 1000 series (0 series: green, white, and red; 1000 series: green, white, and pink). Car numbers, affiliation markings, and car number markings are pre-printed.
- Reproduces the different sizes of the passenger windows on the side opposite the toilet depending on the series.
- Headlights/taillights illuminate (with on/off switch). Each car has 4 headlights.
- Bogies are DT72/TR256 for low-floor vehicles. Small diameter wheels (φ5.2mm) are applied, just like the actual train, realistically reproducing the actual train's wheelbase of 2,100mm.
Snowplows are pre-installed.
- The front of the leading car has a dummy coupler with a coupler cover installed. - The coupler at the front of the lead car is compatible with the 701 series. The intermediate coupling ends use body-mounted close-coupling couplers (without hooks).
- The skirts reproduce the different positions of the inspection covers on the Kumoha E721 and Kuha E720, and the presence or absence of inspection covers depending on the series number.
- The front display is pre-installed with "Sendai," and interchangeable front displays: "Shin-Shirakawa" and "(blank)" are included. Destination display stickers are included.
