E721 Series 1000 Subtype 4-Car Set
●This product features the E721 series, which operates on the AC electrified sections of the Southern Tohoku area of JR East. This series was introduced in 2007 for the purpose of updating the rolling stock at JR East's Sendai Branch and for operation on the Sendai Airport Access Line. It features a low-floor body structure using small-diameter wheels to match the low-floor platforms of local lines, and achieves barrier-free access with no steps at the entrances. In addition to the earlier 0/500 series (2-car sets), the 1000 series (4-car fixed sets) appeared in 2016. Including vehicles owned by third-sector companies that share the same manufacturer and basic design, this series boasts a wide variety of variations.
◆This time, we are releasing three types of sets: a 2-car set of the 0 series and a 4-car set of the 1000 series, both designed for one-man operation, and a 6-car set (special edition) consisting of a combination of the 0 and 1000 series, both designed for non-one-man operation.
These trains are active on the Tohoku Main Line (Shin-Shirakawa to Ichinoseki), the Joban Line (north of Haranomachi), the Senzan Line (Sendai to Yamagata), and the Ban'etsu West Line (Koriyama to Aizu-Wakamatsu). This is a fun series to see, as it can be coupled with the popular 701 series 1000 series (Sendai color) and even alongside the HB-E300 series "Hinabi"/"SATONO". Enjoy the modern Tohoku railway scene with this model train.
① This model replicates the P4-6 train set belonging to the Sendai Train Depot. The bogies and underfloor equipment are reproduced in gray, and the skirts in blue-gray.
② The different stripe colors for the 0 and 1000 series are beautifully reproduced (0 series: green, white, and red; 1000 series: green, white, and pink). The car number, depot markings, and car number markings are pre-printed.
③ The different sizes of the passenger windows on the side opposite the toilet, depending on the series, are reproduced.
④ Headlights and taillights illuminate (with on/off switch). Each car has four headlights that illuminate.
⑤ The bogies are DT72/TR256 for low-floor vehicles. Small diameter wheels (φ5.2mm) are used, just like the actual train, realistically reproducing the 2,100mm wheelbase of the actual train. Snowplows are pre-installed.
⑥ The front of the leading car has a dummy coupler with a coupler cover installed.
⑦ The coupling coupler on the front of the leading car can be coupled with the 701 series. Intermediate coupling surfaces use body-mounted close-coupling couplers (without hooks).
⑧ The skirts reproduce the different positions of the inspection covers on the Kumoha E721 and Kuha E720, and the presence or absence of inspection covers depending on the series number.
⑨ The front display is pre-installed with "Sendai," and interchangeable front displays: "Shin-Shirakawa" and "(blank)" are included. Destination display stickers are included.
⑩ DCC friendly
