E721 Series 0-series 2-car set
●We are releasing a model of the E721 series, which operates on the AC electrified sections of the Southern Tohoku area of JR East. This series was introduced in 2007 for the purpose of updating the rolling stock at JR East's Sendai Branch and for operation on the Sendai Airport Access Line. It features a low-floor body structure using small-diameter wheels to match the low-floor platforms of local lines, and is a barrier-free vehicle with no steps at the entrances. In addition to the previously introduced 0-series/500-series (2-car sets), the 1000-series, a fixed 4-car set, appeared in 2016. Including vehicles owned by third-sector companies that share the same manufacturer and basic design, this series has a wide variety of variations.
◆This time, we are releasing three types: a 2-car set of the 0-series (one-man operation specification), a 4-car set of the 1000-series, and a 6-car set (special edition) consisting of a non-one-man operation 0-series and 1000-series combination.
This train operates on the Tohoku Main Line (Shin-Shirakawa to Ichinoseki), Joban Line (north of Haranomachi), Senzan Line (Sendai to Yamagata), and Ban'etsu West Line (Koriyama to Aizu-Wakamatsu). It's a fun train to see, as it can be coupled with the popular 701 series 1000 series (Sendai color) and even alongside the HB-E300 series "Hinabi"/"SATONO". Enjoy the modern Tohoku railway scene with this model train.
① This model replicates the P4-6 formation belonging to the Sendai Vehicle Center, with gray bogies and underfloor equipment, and a bluish-gray skirt.
② Beautifully reproduces the different stripe colors between the 0 series and 1000 series (0 series: green, white, and red; 1000 series: green, white, and pink). Car numbers, affiliation markings, and car number markings are pre-printed.
③ Reproduces the different passenger window sizes on the toilet side depending on the series.
④ Headlights and taillights illuminate (with on/off switch). Each car has four headlights that light up.
⑤ The bogies are DT72/TR256 for low-floor vehicles. Small diameter wheels (φ5.2mm) are used, just like the actual train, realistically reproducing the 2,100mm wheelbase of the actual train. Snowplows are pre-installed.
⑥ The front of the leading cars has a dummy coupler with a coupler cover installed.
⑦ The couplers on the front of the leading cars can be coupled with the 701 series. Body-mounted close-coupling couplers (without hooks) are used for the intermediate coupling surfaces.
⑧ The skirts reproduce the different inspection cover positions on the Kumoha E721 and Kuha E720, and the presence or absence of inspection covers depending on the car number.
⑨ The front display shows "Sendai" pre-installed, with interchangeable front displays: "Shin-Shirakawa" and "(blank)" included. Destination display stickers are included.
⑩ DCC friendly
