Prototype Information
The E721 Series EMU, active on the AC-electrified lines of JR East's Southern Tohoku region, is now being reproduced in model form. This train series was introduced in 2007 to replace older rolling stock at JR East's Sendai Depot and to provide service on the Sendai Airport Access Line.
Designed to match the low-level platforms commonly found on regional routes, the E721 Series features a low-floor carbody structure with small-diameter wheels, enabling step-free, barrier-free access at the doors.
In addition to the earlier 0 Series and 500 Series 2-car sets, the 1000 Series with a fixed 4-car formation was introduced in 2016. Combined with similar vehicles owned by third-sector railway operators that share the same manufacturer and basic design, the E721 Series has developed into a highly diverse family of train variants.

Key Features
① Reproduces the P4-6 formation assigned to the Sendai Vehicle Center. The bogies and underfloor equipment are finished in gray, while the skirt is reproduced in bluish-gray.
② Accurately represents the different stripe colors between series:
0 Series: green, white, and red
1000 Series: green, white, and pink
Car numbers, depot markings, and car-end numbering are all factory-printed.
③ Faithfully reproduces differences in passenger window size on the side opposite the restroom, which vary depending on the series.
④ Headlights and taillights are fully illuminated (with an on/off switch). The headlights feature a realistic four-light configuration on each leading car.
⑤ Equipped with DT72 / TR256 bogies designed for low-floor vehicles. Small-diameter wheels (φ5.2 mm) are used to match the prototype, and the real bogie wheelbase of 2,100 mm is accurately modeled. Snowplows are pre-installed.
⑥ Dummy knuckle coupler with a protective cover is installed on the front of leading cars.
⑦ The front coupling system is compatible with JR East 701 Series, allowing multiple-unit operation. Body-mounted close-couplers (without hooks) are used between intermediate cars.
⑧ Skirt details are faithfully reproduced, including differences between KuMoHa E721 and KuHa E720, as well as variations in inspection cover presence depending on the series.
⑨ Front destination display is pre-installed as “Sendai,” with additional interchangeable plates for:
“Shin-Shirakawa”
