●The 103 series is a standard JNR (Japanese National Railways) commuter DC electric train, with mass production beginning in 1964 and over 3,400 units manufactured over more than 20 years. It operated on DC lines throughout Japan, and many variations existed depending on the manufacturing period and the lines it was used on. It remains a familiar commuter train to many people, not just railway enthusiasts.

◆We are re-releasing this popular set, allowing you to easily enjoy the 103 series, a representative JNR commuter DC electric train, with variations in the lead car. The first release comes in two colors: <Sky Blue> and <Uguisu (Japanese Bush Warbler)>. The <Sky Blue> set now includes a new low-cab lead car that operated on the Keihanshin Local Line. Enjoy the majestic appearance of the 103 series, which operated in the Kanto and Kansai regions, in N gauge. Furthermore, the headlights/taillights will be changed to LEDs from this release onwards.


① A set that allows you to easily enjoy the standard JNR commuter train 103 series.
• The Kuha 103 in the <Sky Blue> 4-car set 1 and the <Bush Warbler Green> 4-car set are reproduced with a high driver's cab.
• The Kuha 103 in the <Sky Blue> 4-car set 2 is reproduced with a low driver's cab and is a non-ATC car.
② Headlights/taillights illuminate (warm white LED). The light case has been changed to yellow-green.
③ LED interior lighting can be optionally installed.
④ The couplers are Arnold couplers for intermediate connections and dummy couplers for the front of the leading cars.
⑤ You can reproduce your preferred operation with separately sold destination display stickers (handled by Hobby Center Kato).
⑥ The affiliation marking is set to "Kansui".
