Kato 10-1491S N Scale 221 Series Renewal Car <Yamatoji Rapid> Basic Set (4 Cars)

The 221 series is a DC commuter train for the Tokaido Main Line "Special Rapid Service" that first appeared in 1989. It was the first train to be newly designed and manufactured by JR West. It currently operates in a wide range of areas, from the Kansai Main Line (Yamatoji Line) to the Osaka Loop Line, Nara Line, San'in Main Line (Sagano Line), Kusatsu Line, and Kosei Line. Since 2013, the train has undergone structural improvements (renewal), including the addition of a front-mounted safety screen and upgraded headlights to HID and fog lights.

◆With this release, the roof-mounted lightning arrester has been updated, and the destination display stickers have been updated. A slotless motor is also used for power.

Key Features
① Reproduced are the NA413 and NA414 trains belonging to the Suita General Rolling Stock Center Nara Branch.
② Accurately recreates the features of vehicles undergoing refurbishment work, including reinforced front skirts, fall prevention barriers, and HID headlights with fog lights.
③ The roof-mounted lightning arresters are recreated in their updated form.
④ Each leading car features illuminated head and taillights, as well as front indicators (with switch to turn them off). The light units use white LEDs.
⑤ The fall prevention barriers between the leading cars are recreated as separate parts.
⑥ Printed low-cooling car markings, wheelchair/stroller symbols, door switches, end markings, safety device markings, and door cock markings.
⑦ Each car features a body-mounted close-coupled coupler (without hook). Includes an electric coupler for the leading car.
⑧ Slotless motors ensure smooth and quiet running.
⑨ Side destination indicators are recreated in black. Side destination indicator stickers are included. Priority seating signs updated to the latest version.
⑩ The front display is printed with "Q Yamatoji Rapid Nara." Each set includes replacement front displays "O Yamatoji Rapid Osaka Loop Line" and "Q Section Rapid Kamo," as well as two plain displays.
