Car set with four additional cars for the Deutsche Bahn ICE 2 trainset.

Consisting of one 1st class car, type 805.3, one 2nd class car, type 806.0, one 2nd class car, type 806.3, and one 2nd class car, type 806.6.

Deutsche Bahn operates the ICE 2 as half-trains, each consisting of a power car, six intermediate cars, and a driving trailer. When needed, two half-trains are coupled together to form a full trainset. Whenever possible, the full trainsets run driving trailer to driving trailer, allowing the power cars to lead at the ends of the train to reach a speed of 250 km/h. However, combinations of power car/control car or power car/power car are also possible. The power cars of the 402 series differ from their predecessors primarily in their modified front, which can be opened for coupling. The control car is also equipped with this front.
