Prototype:

In the late 1960s, the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn) developed the Class 151 as a heavy freight locomotive, based on the technology of the Class 103 and 181/184. With electric rheostatic braking, train heating, and push-pull and double-traction control, it was versatile in its applications. Since the 2010s, many locomotives have been retired from the DB fleet; some went to RBH or private railway undertakings. In 2025, over 50 machines were still operational.
