The Wilesco steamroller Old Smoky kit (black/brass)

The Wilesco Steamroller Old Smoky kit D376 (black/brass) is another color variation in black and brass. This radiant model will captivate every model enthusiast and collector.

This kit D376 has the same "features" as the already assembled steamroller. With this kit you will experience up close how steam engines are built and work step by step on the combination of all individual parts. The kit can also be easily assembled by inexperienced steam engine enthusiasts thanks to the detailed, richly illustrated assembly instructions. The approximate time required to assemble the steamroller is three to four hours. It is advantageous if assembly can be carried out with as few interruptions as possible. All of the steam engine's individual parts were subjected to careful quality control before leaving our steam engine factory.

We have been producing the Old Smoky steam roller in this form since the mid-1960s, it was the first mobile model steam engine in the Wilesco range.

This model of a mobile steam engine was modeled on a widespread steam roller that was used in road construction up until the 1950s.

Mobile as well as stationary usable steamroller

Catwalk, chain steering and gear clutch are self-evident details of our Old Smoky. The clutch - to be operated by a rod to the left of the driver's cab - enables the steam roller to also be operated as a stationary steam engine. The Old Smoky, with its 230 ccm boiler, is powerful enough both to pull accessories in mobile operation and to drive drive models in stationary operation. The aluminum roller wheels of this steam scooter are anodized and painted.

For indoor and outdoor use

Our Wilesco steam roller D376 is suitable for both outdoor and indoor use. Since the Wilesco D365 has a flywheel that can be thrown in both directions, it can drive both forwards and backwards, steering is via a timing chain. During operation, the chimney of the steamroller smokes true to the original. The running time with a charge of original Witabs solid fuel is approx. 15 minutes. When using other brands of dry fuel, the running time may be slightly shorter.

A wonderful and absolutely recommendable souvenir of old times for all steam engine fans.

This steam engine comes with 2 WITABS dry fuels, but please don't forget to stock up on fuel with your D365 for the best vaping experience.
