DF200形はJR貨物が開発した電気式ディーゼル機関車で1992年に登場しました。
登場以来北海道のみで活躍をしていましたが、100番代の一部が2016年から順次愛知機関区へ転属となり、同時に200番代へ改造されました。
2023年より愛知機関区所属の201号機に、愛知県と三重県の沿線風景をイメージしたラッピングが施されています。
愛称は公募により決定され、Ai-Me(アイミー)と名付けられました。
