Kato 3040-1 N Scale EF58 66 Ryuge Locomotive Depot

EF58 No. 66 was one of the last group of EF58s (third batch of additional cars) manufactured with large front windows, and debuted in 1953. After being assigned to Tokyo Locomotive Depot, it was transferred to Shimonoseki Locomotive Depot and then to Ryuge Locomotive Depot in 1978. Towards the end of its time at Tokyo Locomotive Depot, it was fitted with cold-weather equipment such as front icicles, and upon transfer to Ryuge Locomotive Depot, its front headlights were converted to two. As the only locomotive with large windows other than the designated No. 61, it enjoyed great popularity during the final years of the JNR era, and was used to pull the overnight local "Hayatama" train. After being scrapped in 1989, it was kept in storage until it was dismantled in 1996.

This figure recreates the active days of EF58 No. 66, which enjoyed great popularity at Ryuge Locomotive Depot until its retirement. Not only will it be able to pull the 10-1881 overnight local train "Hayatama," which will be released at the same time, but it also comes with headmarks for the "Mystery Relay" and "Goodbye 66," so you can enjoy it as a locomotive to pull an event train.

① This N-gauge model features the No. 66 locomotive, equipped with a dual-sealed beam headlight and PS15 pantograph, which was modified at Ryuka Locomotive Depot after 1978.
