Kato 10-2045 N Scale 50 Series 51 Type Passenger Train 4-Car Basic Set

● The 50 Series 51 Type passenger trains were introduced in 1979 for Hokkaido. They were based on the Series 50 coaches
for Honshu, but were equipped with cold- and snow-resistant features such as double-glazed windows on the sides and axle
generators on the bogies. It retired in 1994, earlier than the 50 Series used in warmer regions of Japan. It is considered an
important part of JNR's history in Hokkaido.
◆ KATO's 50 Series 51 Type passenger trains are now available in the style of their final years, with JR markings printed on
the sides of the Ohafu 51 cars. This model is suitable as a towing partner for the “3071-2 ED76-500 (JR Version)” and “7008-L
DD51 Late Stage (for cold regions) ‘Northern Star’ (rubber frame)” which are currently on sale. You can add details to the roof
using the <11-551 50 Series Passenger Train Upgrade Parts> and the <28-234 Expansion Coupler Set for 50 Series> by Hobby
Center KATO, which is scheduled for production at the same time.

● 50 Series 51 Type Passenger Train
① We have created the model of the 50 Series 51 type train from the early 1990s belonging to Iwamizawa Train Depot.
② The Ohafu 51 has been recreated with the JR logo printed on its side.
③ Reproduces the TR230A bogies with the small double-glazed windows and the gear-type axle generators that are
characteristic of the 51-type cars specifically designed to cater for colder climates.
④ The tail lights of the Ohafu 51 are lit (off-switch included).
⑤ The Ohafu 51 has printed inspection notations on both gable ends. Weight: 30.2t, Inspection mark: “2-1 Naebo Works” (自
重:30.2t、検査表記:「2-1 苗穂工」)
⑥ “Ranshima” head mark for DD51 included.
⑦ Includes stickers featuring side destination displays and various types of sign boards.
