Kato 10-1940 N Scale JR Shikoku 8000 Series “Shiokaze/Ishizuchi” Express (Old Color) 8-Car Set [Special Edition]
Introducing the tilting express train, the representative of JR Shikoku!
● The JR Shikoku 8000 series is a type of express DC electric train introduced by JR Shikoku, with a prototype vehicle first
appearing in 1992. It features a computer-controlled tilting system and consists of both 5-car and 3-car sets, with each
configuration having gangway-connected and non-gangway lead cars. In addition to operating as combined 5-car + 3-car sets,
these units also run independently in single-unit configurations. Mass production of the series began in 1993, and from 2004,
the trains underwent extensive interior and exterior renovations. Further updates and changes to the paint scheme have
been implemented since 2023 enabling it to evolve with the times.
◆ A new lineup of JR Shikoku models from KATO are now available! The collection includes 5-car and 3-car sets that replicate
the trains following their renewal. Additionally, a special edition 8-car set in the original colors (before the renewal) is also on
offer. You can re-create scenes alongside other models such as the <10-1999/2000> 273 Series "Yakumo" and the <10-
1907/1908> 227 Series 500 series "Urara", which can be seen not only in the Shikoku region but also at Okayama Station.
