Akasaka Mine Ore Transport Train (Deki 1 & Ho 1) 3-Car Set
Akasaka Mine (Tomii Mining Akasaka Mining Site) refers to the entire mining area that extends northeast from Akasaka Station, the terminus of the Tomii Electric Railway's Touge Line. Akasaka Mine has long produced tin, copper, and zinc, and boasts one of the largest smelters in the Orient. Recently, a new line dedicated to the mine was opened, connecting Akasaka Station to Osugihongo Station, achieving direct service to the Nekoya Line.
This set will include a hopper car set for ore transport and a passenger car set for transporting mine workers.
※What is a Mining Railway?
A mining railway is a railroad built to transport ore extracted from mines. In the past, many mining railways existed domestically, primarily for coal transport. However, due to decreasing demand and profitability issues, many mines have closed, and transportation methods have shifted to belt conveyors and trucks, leading to a significant reduction in the number of mining railways.
