Kato 8028-1 N Scale SEKI 3000 Coal Freight Car 2-Car Set(with coal)

The SEKI 3000 is a hopper car that was used mainly in Hokkaido to transport coal from mines to loading ports.

Witnessing D51 locomotives pulling coal transport trains weighing around 2400 tons, consisting of around 50 Seki 3000 cars loaded with 30 tons of coal each, in addition to their 14-ton weight, was a common sight. These trains operated from coal mining areas such as Yubari and Ashibetsu to loading ports such as Otaru and Muroran.

・The body color has been changed to matte black for a more massive look that characterizes Hokkaido's coal trains.
・The Seki 3000, which played a prominent role in the long coal transport trains on the Yubari Line and the Muroran Main Line, is making a comeback.
